LG, Omar, Mufti condole death of Iranian President in helicopter crash

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has condoled the passing away of Iran’s President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister H. Amir-Abdollahian.

In a tweet, the LG said: “Deeply saddened by the passing away of Iran’s President Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi & Foreign Minister H. Amir-Abdollahian. We pray to the almighty to give families strength & fortitude to bear their loss at this time of great sorrow. We stand with the people of Iran in this hour of grief.”

Former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti on Monday expressed shock over the death of the Iranian President in the helicopter crash.

“Deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir in a helicopter crash. My heartfelt condolences go out to their families and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Abdullah said in a post on X.

“My deepest condolences to the people of Iran who mourn the tragic passing away of their President Ebrahim Resi. Shocking & quite baffling,” Mehbooba Mufti said in a post on X.
