SIA files supplementary chargesheet against 2 terrorists of Rajouri

Jammu: State Investigation Agency today filed supplementary chargesheet against two terrorists involved in KandiBudhal area of Rajouri district, a police spokesperson informed.

He said a case of terror acts was registered in Police Station Mahore where two terrorists were arrested with a huge quantity of automatic arms and its ammunition including other war-like stores from Budhal area by the police and security forces. During their sustained interrogation, more recoveries of sticky grenades, hand-grenades, IEDs were made on their disclosures.

Given the importance of this case and possible involvement of more “terrorist associates”, the case was transferred to State Investigation Agency  (SIA), Jammu.

The SIA “put in strenuous efforts and as a result the duo confessed their involvement in number of terrorist acts including killing, injuring and firing upon innocent persons, grenade throwing in a marriage party and planting of IEDs in crowded places in KandiBudhal areas and causing extensive damage to government properties,” police said.

“The said terrorists were active since long and carrying out the terrorist acts on the behest of a top ranking grade –“A” terrorist of proscribed terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), namely Mohammad Qasim @ Salman @ Waseem, son of Mohammad Shafi of Angralla, Reasi, who has exfiltrated to Pakistan for arms training during the year 1990,” police spokesperson said.

He said the accused persons “had received huge quantity of arms and ammunition and other war-like stores through drone dropping from different places in Lamberi area of District Rajouri and then shifted the same to KandiBudhal area for terrorist acts, on the instructions of Pak-handler.”

The main chargesheet of the case was filed before the court on December 29, 2023.

On further investigation in the case, two more associates of the said module of Laskar-e-Toiba (LeT) were taken into custody by SIA Jammu.

“On sustained interrogation, they also confessed their involvement in number of terrorist acts, shifting of automatic arms and its ammunitions including other war-like store items from Lamberi to KandiBudhal area in association of the accused person Talib Hussain Shah, who was earlier arrested along with sophisticated weapons and its ammunitions.

“The duo has voluntarily joined the LeT outfit on the motivation of Pak-handlers. They were also found involved in a number of FIRs registered in the KandiBudhal area for terrorist acts/activities,” police said.
