Srinagar: Apni Party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, on Monday, said  that “Apni Party will change the scenario of Jammu and Kashmir for a brighter future.”

He said that “people have maintained peace and tranquillity in J&K for four years, and I am sure they will reap the economic and political advantages of this peace.”

He made these comments while addressing a party public rally at Tral, in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, today. People, mostly from the Sikh community, thronged the rally and warmly welcomed Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and his accompanying leaders upon their arrival at the venue. This event was part of the party’s ongoing campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari applauded the role of the people in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the valley for the past several years, especially after August 5, 2019.

He said, “The entire Jammu and Kashmir has suffered due to the long phase of violence here. We have seen deaths and bloodshed everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir during the past more than three decades, but Tral is one of those places that suffered the most. However, I congratulate the people who contributed their efforts to peace and tranquillity here during the past few years, especially after August 5, 2019. And, I am sure that people will reap the economic and political benefits of peace.”

“Apni Party will change the scenario of Jammu and Kashmir for its brighter future, as we are committed to ensuring political and economic empowerment of the people,” he added.

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari appealed to people to support and vote for the Apni Party in the Lok Sabha polls. He said, “I request that you give Apni Party a chance to serve you. We will not let you down, instead, our members will represent your sentiments in the parliament.”

He urged people not to vote for the same parties who have been deceiving them through their deceptive narratives and provocative slogans.

“In 2019, the traditional parties sought your votes promising that their elected members would protect Article 370 in Parliament. You trusted them and elected three members of one of these parties. Another party also had two members in the Rajya Sabha. Did they protect it? They didn’t even bother to resign in protest of the abrogation of Article 370. Did these so-called representatives fetch any economic package for the people during their 5-year tenure? Did they even try to ensure the release of the jailed people? If not, then why should you vote for candidates from the same parties?” he asked.

He said that Apni Party is committed to striving for “permanent peace, enduring prosperity, and equal development in Jammu and Kashmir.”  He went on to say, “We will ensure peace with dignity, a brighter future for our youth, infrastructure development, and the creation of employment opportunities.”

Addressing the rally, the party’s Provincial President for Kashmir and the party candidate for the Lok Sabha polls in Srinagar, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, said, “Apni Party, if it gets the mandate, will ensure that all the rights guaranteed by the constitution of the country are restored to the people of Jammu and Kashmir as well.”  He added, “We will ensure there is no injustice to anyone. We will bring back the people who are in jail to their homes so that they can live normal lives with their families.”
