Drug-smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have booked a “notorious” drug smuggler under the PIT NDPS Act.
Police said drug peddler Mohammad Rafiq Khan alias Rafi Raja, son of Ghulam Hassan Khan of Trikanjan Boniyar, Baramulla, has been booked under the PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The booked drug smuggler has been detained from Jammu and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.
Police said that many cases are registered against him and that he was involved in promoting the “drug abuse trade” by supplying drugs to local youth of Uri, Boniyar, Trikanjan, Bijhama and other areas of the district.
