LG flags off Road Safety Awareness Tour from Raj Bhawan

Reviews progress of Transit Accommodations for PM Package Employees

Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the Road Safety Awareness Tour “Mission Save Lives J&K Tour 2024” from Raj Bhawan today.

The LG commended the endeavour of the Kashmir Road Safety Foundation to create awareness, educate communities, and implement measures to enhance road safety across UT of Jammu Kashmir, an official press release informed.

‘Mission Save Lives J&K Tour 2024’ will cover all districts of J&K and spread awareness about the importance of road safety and sustainable development goals.

Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to LG; Nasir Ali Khan, chairman, Kashmir Road Safety Foundation, senior officials and others concerned were present.

Meanwhile, LG Manoj Sinha today chaired a meeting with senior officials and reviewed the ongoing construction work of the Transit Accommodations for PM Package Employees, an official press release informed.

It said the LG took appraisal of the progress of transit accommodations across the Kashmir division.

He directed the officials to accelerate the pace of work and complete the construction and associated infrastructure, approach roads, water and power supply and other basic amenities.

The meeting was attended by Atal Dulloo, Chief Secretary; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, Principal Secretary to LG; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; G Prasanna Ramaswamy, Secretary Revenue Department; Bupinder Kumar, Secretary, Public Works (R&B); Anil Koul, Secretary to Government, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction Department and other senior officials.
