Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Sunday.
He said at a checkpoint at Nambla Uri, police intercepted and later arrested one Mohammad Shareef Sheikh, son of Baba Sheikh of Nambla Uri, after 4.20 kgs of cannabis powder and cash if ₹2000, which according to the police, are proceeds of narcotics, were recovered from his possession.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Uri and investigation initiated.
