Agri Department committed to upholding farmer’s interests: Ch Iqbal
SRINAGAR: Amid prevailing inclement weather conditions in the region, the Director of Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal, today reviewed the agriculture scenario in the Kashmir division.
Addressing the officers of the department through virtual mode, the Director reiterated the Department’s commitment to work for the welfare and well-being of the farming community.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure that the farmers follow the advisories recently issued by the Department to manage different agriculture activities amid the prevailing weather scenario.
He asked the officers to visit farmers and work in a coordinated manner to address the issues and demands raised by the farming community.
The Director of Agriculture was also briefed by respective Chief Agriculture Officers, through virtual mode, about the agriculture scenario in their respective Districts and the interventions carried out by the Department.
It was informed that some short-term and long-term initiatives have been taken by the Department so that the interests of the farmers are safeguarded.
