Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Saturday.
He said at Gulabbugh Qazigund, 4.3 kgs of poppy straw-like contraband substance was recovered from the possession of one Balwinder Kumar, son of Mewa Ram, a resident of Ratharwan, Pathankot. He was subsequently arrested.
At Naibasti Qaimoh, 2 kgs of cannabis-like substance was recovered from Gulzar Ahmad Allaie, son of Abdul Khaliq Allaie of Chinigam Chanpora, Frisal. He too was arrested.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for further investigations, police said.
