Srinagar: Police have arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla, Kulgam and Spore and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Friday.
He said in Baramulla, at Galibal Chandoosa, two persons — Abdul Qayoom Lone, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Shirpora and Mudasir Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid of Heewan Sheeri, were arrested after 36 grams of cannabis was recovered from their possession.
In Kulgam, one Farooq Ahmad Thoker, son of Gull Mohammad Thoker of Hadigam was arrested after 700 grams of cannabis was recovered from his possession.
In Sopore, at Zonipora Crossing, one Irfan Ahmad Pir alias Bit Pir, son of Mohammad Sultan Pir of Tujjer Shareef Sopore, was arrested after 560 grams of cannabis was recovered from him.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigations, police said.
