Srinagar: A few areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snowfall while the rains lashed plains on Wednesday.
Reports said that Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora area and its adjacent places received fresh snowfall today.
The rains lashed plains of Kashmir including Srinagar in the late afternoon, bringing down the mercury considerably.
Against yesterday’s 21.4 degree Celsius, the maximum temperature in Srinagar settled at 17.1 degree Celsius today, the officials in the Meteorological department (MeT) said.
The maximum temperature also plummeted in other places including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Qazigund, Kokernag, Kupwara and other areas.
Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather conditions will improve by tomorrow and there is a forecast of generally dry weather on April 04.
He stated that the partly cloudy weather with light rain and snow is expected at isolated places on April 05th while the weather would remain generally dry from April 06-10.
