Srinagar: Authorities on Tuesday shot dead the leopard, believed to be behind the killing of two minor girls at separate places in Budgam district.
Quoting officials, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported that after receiving directions from the Deputy Commissioner in the backdrop of the recent incident, the authorities had laid traps and made all possible efforts to neutralize the beast.

“After several days of waiting, the police killed the leopard at Social-Forestry Nursery in Samsan village in Khansahib Budgam,” said the official.
The now-dead leopard had struck multiple times in the month of March, claiming the lives of two minor girls and injuring a minor boy in Samsan and Hariwani villages.
