Jmu-Sgr nat’l highway reopens for one-way traffic after 2-day closure

Srinagar: Authorities on Monday allowed Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) to ply from both sides of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

An official said that LMV traffic has been allowed from both sides of the highway (NH-44).

He said earlier the traffic movement was suspended temporarily after a boulder slide hit the highway near Sherbibi Kishtwari Pathar.

The official advised commuters to follow lane discipline, and said the overtaking will lead to congestion as there is single-lane traffic and poor surface condition of the road at many places between Nashri and Banihal.
