SRINAGAR: District Election Officer(DEO) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Monday chaired a meeting of Assistant Returning Officers(AROs) and Election Nodal Officers here in his Office Chamber to review the progress of preparation with regard to the conduct of upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024 for 02-Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency in the District.

At the outset, the District Election Officer reviewed the Assembly segment-wise status of Election Training imparted to the Polling Staff on handling of EVMs, and VVPAT machines in all eight Assembly Constituencies of the Srinagar District.

The DEO was informed that as many as 7000 employees have been imparted Election-related necessary Training in the District so far after the first Randomization process.

The DEO asked the concerned Nodal officers to expedite the process of imparting election-related Training to the Poll Staff and undertake the process of conducting a second Randomization of Polling Staff in Srinagar.

The DEO directed the AROs and Officers of R&B, PDD, PHE and others concerned to work with utmost coordination to complete all assigned tasks related to the conduct of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. He stressed that Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) should be ensured for PwD Voters at each Polling Station viz Permanent ramps, drinking water, and toilet facilities as per norms of ECI.

The DEO also enjoined upon the Nodal Officer Postal Ballot & all AROs to take up all necessary arrangements for facilitating voting by Postal Ballots by various categories of Voters including service voters, personnel on Poll Duty (EDC), migrant electors, absent electors, etc so that they cast their vote in upcoming Lok Sabha Election without any difficulty.

The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Permissions, Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Assistant Returning Officer(ARO), Hazratbal, Syed Ahmad Kataria, Assistant Returning Officer(ARO), Hazratbal, Dr, Khalid Hussian, Assistant Returning Officer(ARO), Headquarter, Mohammad Aslam Choudhary, Nodal Officer Trainings, Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Deputy District Election Officer, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Nodal Officer Postal Ballot, Shohab Latief, Nodal Officer ETPBS/IT, Mujtaba Ahmad Banday and other concerned.
