Srinagar: Police in Anantnag have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed.
He said near Tulkhan Crossing Sangam, police intercepted a vehicle (JK03B-1781) and recovered 17 kgs of poppy straw from it. Three persons travelling in the vehicle — Sajad Ahmad Dass, son of Mohammad Sultan Dass; Javid Ahmad Mantoo, son of Wali Mohammad Mantoo, both residents of Waghama Bijbehara; and Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Tulkhan Bijbehara, were arrested, and vehicle seized, while a case has been registered for further investigations.
