Lal Singh to file nomination papers on March 27

Jammu: Three more candidates today filed their nomination papers from the Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency for the first phase of Parliamentary elections scheduled to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on April 19.

With the filing of nomination papers by three candidates today, the total number of candidates who have filed their candidature for 4-Udhampur PC goes to five.

The last day for filing of nomination papers is March 27, 2024 upto 03:00 PM.

Meanwhile, Chaudhary Lal Singh, who recently returned to the Congress fold after a decade, today said that he will file the nomination papers from Udhampur constituency on March 27 as Congress candidate.

Talking to media, he made scathing remarks against the Union government, alleging neglect of Dogra rights.

He expressed concerns over the lack of local employment opportunities in highway construction projects and the alleged seizure of lands belonging to the indigenous populace. He condemned the policy of offering 100 percent subsidies to external industrialists, labeling it as injustice to the Dogras.
