Srinagar’s 10 BN of SSB Pays Tribute to Reyaj Ahmad Gojar

Srinagar: In a ceremony commemorating Martyrs Day, the Srinagar-based 10 BN of SSB Batamaloo, paid tribute to the late Reyaj Ahmad Gojar Khatana, a jawan who laid down his life on March 20th 2019, during cross-border firing at Village Kundali Barjala Jabda, in Uri sector of Baramulla District.

The occasion witnessed a gathering of officials of 10 BN, dignitaries, and the family members of the martyr.

The event commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony, as Jawans, senior officers, including Rohitashwa, Commandant of the 10 BN SSB, alongside Reyaz’s wife, Rabiya Begum, and grieving family members, paid their respects to the deceased. A minute of silence was observed, reflecting the nation’s gratitude for the service rendered by the soldier.

Addressing the gathering, Commandant Rohitashwa reiterated the nation’s unwavering support and indebtedness to the SSB personnel who continue to safeguard the country’s borders and maintain internal security with utmost dedication and valour.

The Soldier’s family was honored and presented with tokens of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their immense sacrifice and unwavering support to the nation.

The event concluded with a pledge ceremony to uphold the legacy of the nation’s martyrs and to ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten.
