Kishtwar: Four members of a family died after a vehicle they were travelling in fell into a deep gorge in the Bandarkoot area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.

Station House Officer (SHO) Kishtwar said the ill-fated vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Bandarkoot.

He said four persons travelling in the vehicle died in the incident, while another one was injured.

The deceased have been identified as Yasir Ahmed Butt, son of Abdul Gani Butt, his wife Shazada Begum, their children Artash Yasir and Ailaf Yasir, while the injured person was identified as Aarish Yasir – all residents of Berwar Kishtwar.

Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Devansh Yadav said five family members were travelling in a car which fell into a deep gorge.

“Tragically four member of a family lost lives in the accident, while another is injured,” he said.

He said the injured is out of danger and all possible help from red Cross will be given. (KNO)
