Shaleen Kabra inaugurates Water Supply Schemes in Pattan

PATTAN: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Jal Shakti Department, Shaleen Kabra, today visited Pattan and inaugurated Water Supply Schemes.

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission, Dr. G. N Itoo, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Department, Vivek Kohli and other officers of Jal Shakti Department were present on the occasion.

During the visit, the Shaleen Kabra inaugurated the Tantraypora-Goom-Ahmadpora Water Supply Scheme, a crucial project executed under JJM with a cost of Rs 9.55 crore. This scheme will provide clean drinking water to 9760 souls across various villages including Ahmadpora, Goom Ahmadpora, Malbuchan, Tunjihera, Malmoh, Tantraypora and Mahrajpora in Pattan Sub-Division.

The residents of the region expressed gratitude to the government for fulfilling their long pending.

ACS also unveiled the Jeelpora-Bonichakal, Pattan Water Supply Scheme, constructed under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This project, built with a cost of Rs 5.54 crore, will address the drinking water requirements of over 1317 households in the neighbouring villages.

Hailing the efforts of the Lieutenant Governor’s administration and concerned department, the residents of the Jeelpora and Bonichakal regions expressed their heartfelt appreciation for completing the project within the stipulated time.

Speaking during the visit, Shaleen Kabra reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Government towards ensuring access to tap water connections for every household, underscoring the vital importance of providing clean and accessible drinking water to all citizens as a fundamental right.
