Islamia College organizes YUVA SAMVAD under Viksit Bharat @2047 Prog

Srinagar: In a spirited adherence to the Viksit Bharat @2047 Programme, propelled by the esteemed Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar, witnessed a fervent engagement from its Principal, Faculty, Staff, and Students.

Enthusiastically embracing various initiatives aimed at fostering awareness and involving students in activities aligned with the programme’s vision, the college’s NSS Unit-3 orchestrated a vibrant event titled YUVA SAMVAD, under the theme “Dissemination of Youth Centric Ideas at the Grassroot Level under Youth 20 (Y20)2023”.

Commencing the event, the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Khan, underscored the institution’s commitment to executing several programs in accordance with the government’s directives, which encapsulate the aspirations of Viksit Bharat @2047. These programs aim to foster a sense of duty among citizens, instil pride in the nation’s heritage, promote unity and solidarity, and eradicate any remnants of a colonial mindset. Prof. Khan emphasized that such initiatives provide a platform for students to showcase their latent talents through active participation.

Dr. Nusrat Parveen, the NSS program officer of the College, shed light on the array of events undertaken by the NSS throughout the 2023-24 session on campus, further highlighting the institution’s dedication to community engagement and youth empowerment.

The adjudication panel for debates and essay competitions comprised esteemed faculty members, including Prof. Zahida Mehraj, Prof. Abdul Majid, and Prof. Nayer Rizwana. Dr. Zahoor Jhat and Prof. Sajad Sarvar took charge of moderating the cultural events scheduled for the day, adding a dynamic dimension to the proceedings.

Students exhibited remarkable fervour as they presented expressive presentations, insightful essays, and melodious cultural performances. These creative expressions served as a testament to the holistic development nurtured within the campus premises.

The YUVA SAMVAD event not only exemplified the college’s dedication to the ideals of Viksit Bharat @2047 but also showcased the vibrancy and talent of the students, positioning Islamia College of Science & Commerce, Srinagar, as a beacon of progressive education and youth empowerment in the region.
