WGAJK concludes Junior and Senior District level Ski & Snowboard Championship

Srinagar: Winter Games Association of Jammu & Kashmir WGAJK concluded its 2-day long district-level ski and snowboard championship for both boys and girls in the open, JI, J2 and CI, C2 age categories. About 160 athletes from affiliated units across the J&K UT districts participated in Slalom and Giant Slalom events in alpine and snowboard skiing.

The district championship was held on highland slopes in Gulmarg for two days. The event was organized by WGAJK in collaboration with J&K Sports Council, supported by the Department of Tourism Kashmir.

At the end of each event, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were distributed among the winning athletes who performed exceptionally well, also consolation medals were given to some promising athletes.

On the occasion, WGAJK President Rauf Tramboo congratulated the winning athletes and asked them to prepare themselves for coming UT and National level championships in Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic skiing.

Tramboo also thanked the officials who tirelessly stood behind this event to make it successful; he also appreciated the participation of athletes of those districts which showed an upward trend in the number of athletes and performance in this championship.
