Lays foundation stone for projects worth Rs 14 crores

BARAMULLA: In a bid to improve healthcare and road infrastructure in the region, the Chairperson of District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safina Baig, accompanied by the concerned officers Thursday laid the foundation stone for two critical projects in Bandi Payeen and Najibhat Baramulla.

During her visit to Bandi Payeen Baramulla, Safina Baig laid the foundation stone for the construction of a 10-bedded Ayush Hospital being constructed at an estimated cost of 7.25 crores catering to the healthcare needs of the local community.

The DDC chairperson also initiated the upgradation of the Najibhat-Khursi road and Najibhat inner links under the NABARD scheme at an estimated cost of Rs 6.25 Crore.

Expressing the urgency in the completion of the projects, the DDC chairperson directed executive agencies to expedite work to ensure timely completion while highlighting the significance of these endeavours in addressing the needs of the residents.

Speaking on the occasion, Safina Baig underscored the vital role of the Ayush Hospital in providing quality medical assistance and treatment, fostering better healthcare standards for the local community.

Furthermore, the DDC Chairperson emphasized the importance of improved transportation infrastructure in facilitating smoother travel for residents which significantly contributes to the socio-economic development of the region.

Earlier, the locals expressed gratitude to the DDC Chairperson for fulfilling their long-pending demands, underscoring the positive impact of these initiatives on the community’s well-being.
