Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said that his heart is felt with joy and pride on A K Choudhary’s confirmation as chairman of the prestigious position of the Public Service Commission adding that it is truly a vindication and endorsement of a blemish-free, illustrious career of integrity and professional hard work. “It also is a matter of immense pride to all police officers serving as well as for retired officers that one of our colleagues has been considered for the position which again is an endorsement of the policeman’s hard work and contribution to public service.”

The DGP said that Arun Choudhary is the personification of simplicity, accessibility, and an assuming personality who you can rely on in matters of work and personal relations.

The DGP said that Choudhary would not be technically with the police department but he will be in a higher position to influence public service in a far more impactful manner. He said that Police Pariwar will continue to remain with Choudhary. He said that police officers will always look forward to advice and guidance on subjects where he has gained rich expertise during more than three decades of service in the department.

The DGP on behalf of all extended family of the police fraternity extended greetings and best wishes to the officer and his family and hoped that he will do exceedingly well in his next assignment.

In his address, A.K Choudhary expressed his deepest gratitude to the officers for their kind words and appreciation. Recalling his journey in J&K Police, he said that more than 32 years of service in J&K Police has been a memorable journey for him. He said when he joined the J&K cadre, things were very challenging and added that with the constant efforts of J&K Police and other security forces things have completely changed now.

The bond shared among the ranks of the Police force, he added, has been exceptional, which has undoubtedly contributed to the overall success of the force, he observed. A.K Choudhary also recognized and appreciated the valuable contributions of the various officers and team members with whom he had the opportunity to work. He assured that he will be available for J&K Police Pariwar as and when required stating that “once a policeman, always a policeman.”

Director General of Prison, J&K Deepak Kumar on the occasion said that on the personal front, the guidance of Choudhary has been very encouraging. He said that the professional attitude, conduct and motivation of the outgoing officer will be a guiding source for the younger officers of the organisation.
