Awareness camp on HADP, e-NAM, PMFME scheme, CSSs held at Nowgam

SRINAGAR: Area Marketing Officer Srinagar Saturday organised a one-day Awareness Program on Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP), Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), eNAM and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) at Nowgam (A) Srinagar.

The camp was specially targeted for women entrepreneurs, Traders, PRIs, and multiple Business Unit Holders of the area interested in upgrading their existing units/setting up new units etc.

The awareness camp was attended by Officers of the Horticulture Production Department, Agriculture Department, Manager J&K Bank Budgam etc.

Experts from different allied departments deliberated upon the schemes pertaining to the Horticulture Sector in detail.

Area Marketing Officer Srinagar, Shamma Manzoor apprised the participants about the Departmental Activities.

Assistant Marketing Officer Bashir Ahmad Wani/Marketing Inspector Shabir Mufti apprised the audience about HADP, PMFME, eNAM & other Centrally Sponsored Schemes pertaining to the Food Processing Sector in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and the need to integrate the existing unorganized Micro-food Processing Units of the district.

In order to accomplish the objective of a self-reliant India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), the Officer apprised that the Govt. is providing a 50% subsidy under the HADP Program and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries provides financial, technical and marketing support to upgrade the existing micro-food processing units/establish new units under PMFME thereby integrating around two lac micro-food processing enterprises in the unorganized sector with the formal supply chain.

The Manager of J&K Bank Branch Fruit Nowgam explained to the participants the financial assistance and subsidy disbursement process at the Bank level.

The District Resource Person of PMFME apprised the participants about different requirements/formalities of the project under the said scheme like financial assistance and technical knowledge, and besides preparation of DPRs was discussed threadbare with the participants.

The educated unemployed youth were urged to set up their own micro-food processing units and avail of credit-linked subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs 10 lac per unit and interest subvention of 3% available under the scheme.

He requested that interested applicants contact him for assistance in the submission of applications, DPR preparation, follow-up of cases at the bank level etc.

In the end spot assistance was provided to the beneficiaries to register them under the different schemes.
