I pen this urgent appeal on behalf of the numerous students, teachers and other individuals hailing from the remote corners of the Kashmir valleys. Our esteemed institution, Kashmir University, has long stood as a beacon of education, nurturing intellectuals, scientists, researchers, and writers. However, the current state of affairs at the examination block warrants immediate attention and reform.

The arduous journey students undertake to reach this prestigious institution, coupled with their aspirations for academic and non-academic endeavors, should not be overshadowed by the distressing experiences encountered at the examination block. Regrettably, the conditions resemble those of a prison, with long queues, chaos, and disorder prevailing as students, including teachers and professionals from various departments strive to fulfill their document-related obligations.

It is disheartening to witness the prevalence of nepotism and favoritism in document processing, depriving many deserving individuals of timely assistance and perpetuating a culture of injustice and inefficiency. Despite the age of digitalization ushering in transformative changes across sectors, our University’s reliance on outdated practices and machinery stands as a hindrance to progress.

In the era of New Digital India, where technological advancements permeate every facet of society, it is incumbent upon us to embrace modernization and streamline our processes. Leveraging the available manpower and harnessing the power of cutting-edge technology, we can revolutionize document submission and retrieval through online platforms, ensuring swift and transparent transactions while alleviating the burden on students, teachers and faculty members.

Sir, I implore you to heed the voices of the voiceless students, teachers, and other employees across the valley. Your decisive action in implementing online document management systems and instituting time-bound procedures will not only alleviate the suffering of our community but also uphold the integrity and reputation of our esteemed institution.

In anticipation of your prompt attention and meaningful intervention, we remain hopeful for a brighter and more efficient future at Kashmir University.

Yours sincerely,

Gh. Hassan Bhat
