Advisor Bhatnagar addresses valedictory session of 9th NCEEITET at GCET Jammu

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, today remarked that in the present-day world, technology defines most of the things related to mankind and one needs to be constant learning person to cope with the emerging technological advancements across the globe.

The Advisor made these remarks while addressing the valedictory session of the 9th National Conference and Exhibition on Emerging and Innovative Trends in Engineering Technology (NCEEITET) at the Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET) here.

The conference was organised by GCET in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.

While delivering an insightful address during the valedictory session of the conference, Advisor Bhatnagar emphasized on the pivotal role of innovation in driving progress and addressing societal challenges. He underscored the importance of harnessing emerging technologies to catalyse economic growth, enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable development.

Highlighting on the significance of this conference, Advisor Bhatnagar observed that the conference has brought together academicians, researchers, students and industry professionals across the nation to deliberate on cutting-edge developments and transformative trends in engineering technology. He added that the event served as a unique platform for insightful discussions, knowledge sharing and collaboration aimed at fostering advancements in various engineering disciplines.

During his address, Advisor Bhatnagar also spoke about the ongoing developmental journey of Jammu and Kashmir. He remarked that J&K is on an accelerated path of growth and development, witnessing prosperity and progress not seen before.

The Advisor highlighted that the UT is receiving investments in cutting-edge technologies and other sectors as J&K has one of the best industrial policies in the country. He added that the UT is making leaping strides in technological advancements as a new era of accountability and transparency has been established in J&K with more than 1000 public services available digitally.

The Advisor also commended the organisers for the successful culmination of this grand event.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal GCET, Dr. Sameru Sharma gave a detailed account of the two-day conference, highlighting that the purpose of organizing such events is to provide exposure to the engineering students of J&K on the latest trends in engineering and technology.

Professor Raja Dutta from IIT Kharagpur also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, Advisor Bhatnagar inspected various stalls established by various Central Public Sector Undertakings of India such as NHPC, PFC, CVPP, IOC, BEE, BIS, J&K Bank, BSNL, NIELIT as well as various engineering colleges, depicting various innovative products.

The Advisor, during the valedictory session, also distributed prizes and certificates among various speakers, students and researchers for their innovations.

Pertinently, the two-day conference comprised of invited talks, plenary talks by eminent speakers and resource persons followed by five technical sessions and research paper presentations.
