DC Kupwara reviews preparations for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization-2024

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting of the District Task Force to review the preparations for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI)-2024 in the district.

On the occasion, the DC got detailed feedback from the concerned officers regarding the targets to be achieved under the IPPI-2024.

She stressed upon the officers to work with dedication and coordination and ensure nobody is left behind amongst the target population under the Pulse Polio Immunization programme. She asked them for mobilization of men and machinery to carry out the Immunization programme smoothly.

Earlier, the CMO Kupwara briefed the chair through a detailed PowerPoint Presentation regarding the Pulse Polio Immunization programme to be carried out in the district on March 3rd this year.

He said that the district has 130677 children in the 0-5 year age group and 156812 doses of Vaccines are required. 766 Booths and 17 Transit Points have been established, besides, 3064 Workers, 1062 ASHAs and 548 Anganwari Workers have been deployed to carry out the Pulse Polio Immunization programme in the district.

He said Booth Activity will be held on 3rd March, while House to House Activity shall be held from 4th to 5th of March, 2024. Transit sites and Special areas will be covered on all the days from 3rd to 6th March.

CMO Kupwara, Dr. Ramzan; District Programme Officer, Hakeem Tanveer; Block Medical Officers, CDPOs and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
