Srinagar: Police in Kulgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesperson informed Monday.
He said police stopped a car (JK02AD-3680) at a checkpoint at Alstop, and recovered 5 kgs of poppy straw-like substance from it. The driver of the car identified as Ganesh Kumar, son of Prem Nath, resident of Amroo Ramnagar, Udhampur, has been arrested and the car seized.
A case has been registered for further investigation, police said.
