Srinagar: Police have booked a “notorious” drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla, police spokesperson informed Thursday.
He said the “most-wanted and notorious” drug smuggler Umar Farooq Najar, son of Farooq Ahmad of Kalayban Sheeri, Baramulla, has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal, Jammu.
Police said many cases are registered against him for his involvement in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Kalayban, Sheeri, Fatehgarh and other areas of the district.
