During the raid, a suspected vehicle with registration number JK01V-3486, identified as a TATA Mobile, was inspected. The vehicle was found transporting different perishable food items, including 80 kgs of dressed chicken, 120 kgs of dressed fish, and 100 pieces of semi-cooked Mamoos. These items were stored under ambient conditions without proper frozen storage, and all the deteriorated food items were promptly destroyed on the spot in the presence of the vehicle’s driver.

Additionally, Food Safety Officer Achabal, accompanied by the Mobile Food Testing Van, conducted a market drive at Block Achabal. Two FBOs were found in contravention of regulations and have been recommended for action under the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006. Moreover, 25 samples of various food commodities were tested on the spot through the Mobile Food Testing Van.

The Food Safety authorities in the district have issued a stern warning to all Food Business Operators, emphasizing the need to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, along with its Rules and Regulations. They have cautioned that regular inspections will persist in the district to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality.
