While speaking on the occasion, Mir appreciated the role of Advocates in making them aware of the law and defending the constitutional rights of the people as they are well versed with the laws.

“The lawyers are an intellectual community, and they interact with the different segments of society that widen their connection with the masses in comparison to others,” he said.

He stated that the people get awareness of the constitution from the lawyers and their rights are protected by them whenever they are violated.

In this manner, he said that the lawyers play an important role by defending the citizen’s constitutional rights and providing them with legal guidance to get justice.

“The legal community defends people to get rid of the exploitation,” he stated while asserting that the lawyers have also an important role in educating people about the constitutional misunderstandings which have been spread in Jammu and Kashmir because they interact with people from various fields.

He said that the interaction of lawyers with the people can make the people understand the policy and developmental agenda of the Apni Party.

On this occasion, a prominent advocate from Samba, Adv Safir Hussain joined the Party in the presence of the senior leadership.

Ghulam Hassan Mir welcomed the new entrants into the Party fold and hoped that his joining would help the Apni Party strengthen its roots in the district.

Meanwhile, Apni Party’s Chairman Parliamentary Board, Mohammed Dilawar Mir also spoke on the occasion, while elaborating on the role of advocates in strengthening the roots of democracy in Jammu and Kashmir.

He explained how the advocates can help in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir by spreading the message of the Apni Party’s equitable development and protection of the rights of the locals.

On this occasion, General Secretary of the Party, Vijay Bakaya also addressed the meeting and underlined the importance of advocates in providing justice to the people using their legal profession.

Provincial President of the Party, Jammu, S. Manjit Singh was also there in the meeting, and he appreciated the Legal Cell for their efforts to increase the membership in the Party and holding a series of public meetings.

To explain their work, and the problems faced by the advocates, the Provincial President of Legal Cell, Vikram Rathore highlighted various issues and assured that he would continue to fight for the rights of the people as well as the lawyers.

He said that the people in rural areas are the worst sufferers because they are often denied justice and hence, the Apni Party helps the poor and needy people by providing them with legal assistance without any fee.

“We have devoted ourselves to helping the people with legal means so that they get justice,” he added.

Provincial Secretary-Membership Drive Incharge, Dr Rohit Gupta, Provincial President, Jammu (Women Wing), Pavneet Kour and other leaders of the Party were also present in the program.
