67th SGFI Junior Wushu C’ship: Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah clinches gold

Ranchi, (Jharkhand): In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah emerged victorious in the 67th SGFI Junior Wushu Championship held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from January 23rd to 28th, 2024. 

The young athlete showcased exceptional prowess in the martial arts of Wushu, securing a gold medal for his state.

Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah’s journey to victory was marked by intense battles and strategic manoeuvres. His first fight took place against the formidable team from Jharkhand, setting the stage for a challenging competition. Undeterred, he displayed remarkable skill and determination, paving the way for success in the subsequent rounds.

The medal bout proved to be a significant challenge as Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah faced off against Rajasthan. In a closely contested match, he clinched the silver bout, showcasing his resilience and tactical acumen. The young Wushu prodigy continued to impress, winning the silver bout against Jharkhand and progressing steadily towards the championship.

The final round of the championship saw Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah go head-to-head with Manipur, a formidable opponent. With precision and determination, he emerged victorious, securing the coveted gold medal for his state. His exceptional performance throughout the tournament has not only brought glory to himself but has also added a feather in the cap of his state in the field of Wushu.

Expressing gratitude for his success, Syed Mohammad Ali Rouf Shah extended his thanks to Mr. Kuldeep Handoo, a Dronacharya Awardee, for his invaluable guidance and mentorship. Additionally, he acknowledged the unwavering support and encouragement from Mr. Maqsood Rather, whose motivation played a crucial role in the journey to victory.

The triumphant athlete also expressed his appreciation for his dedicated coaches – Mr. Rameez Ahmad, Mr. Irfan Wani, and Mr. Aijaz Hassan – for their consistent support and training, which played a pivotal role in shaping his skills and preparing him for the championship.
