The presence of JKRLM Self-Help Groups as special guests at the Republic Day Parade not only highlights their achievements but also showcases their dedication and the potential of community-driven initiatives in driving inclusive growth and uplifting marginalized sections of society.

Speaking about this remarkable achievement Mission Director of Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission, Indu Kanwal Chib said that this invitation marks a historic moment for the self-help groups under JKRLM. It symbolises the recognition and appreciation of their hard work and dedication towards creating a positive impact in their communities.

The presence of our SHGs as special guests in the Republic Day Parade is a momentous occasion that showcases the resilience and determination of these women. “It is a celebration of their success stories and a testament to their ability to overcome challenges and break barriers,” she added.

Adding further MD said that this opportunity will not only inspire the self-help group members but will also serve as an inspiration to many women across the country. It will highlight the importance of women’s empowerment and the transformative impact they can create when provided with the right opportunities and support, she maintained

Anoo Devi, SHG member and resident of Kishtwar, expressed her excitement, stating, We are thrilled to be part of the Republic Day Parade. This opportunity recognizes our hard work and allows us to witness a grand national event for the first time.

Another SHG member Shezada Bano from Kupwara said that being invited as special guests at the Republic Day Parade is a dream come true for all of us. This recognition embodies our journey towards self-reliance and affirms the immense potential within rural communities to create positive change. We are grateful for the support and opportunities provided by JKRLM, which have empowered us to showcase our skills and contributions on a national platform.

Tirth Kumar, spouse of an SHG member from District Udhampur, expressing his joy said that earlier, we used to watch the Republic Day Parade on television, but now we have the opportunity to witness it live as special guests. This is an overwhelming and immensely happy moment for us. We are both emotional and grateful for this honour. I got this opportunity because of my wife, who has been a SHG member of JKRLM for the past five years, and I am very happy and excited at the same time.
