Secretary PD&MD reviews progress on implementation of “Himayat” scheme in J&K

JAMMU: Secretary of Planning Development and Monitoring Department (PD&MD), Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting to review the functioning of district-level offices of the department.

The meeting was attended by the Director General E&S, Director General (PMCE), Director General (PFD), and Regional Directors (E&S) from Jammu and Kashmir besides district-level Planning officers, among other officials from PD&MD.

The Secretary interacted with each district-level planning officer and reviewed the functioning of their respective offices. He assessed the status of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) being implemented at the district level, including updates on physical verifications, surveys and evaluation reports.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of CSSs in the holistic growth and development of Jammu and Kashmir, the Secretary underscored the need to achieve 100 per cent saturation of these vital schemes at the grassroots level. He instructed the Chief Planning Officers to ensure the timely completion of all the schemes being directly implemented by the district authorities.

The Secretary impressed upon all District Statistics and Evaluation Officers to accomplish all work assignments promptly including 100 per cent completion of Physical Verifications, Evaluation Studies, Surveys, etc., within stipulated timelines.

He exhorted upon the need to optimally utilise technological interventions in the day-to-day working of district offices. In this regard, he asked to launch sensitization and capacity-building programmes for the officers.
