The under-construction house in Buchroo area of Kulgam belonging to Barkatullah Mir, son of Mohammad Abdullah Mir, resident of Buchroo, was attached under the NDPS Act, they said.

“The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking of narcotic drug and psychotropic substances by the owner. Pertinently, the said drug peddler is involved in Case FIR number 69/2021 of Police Station Kulgam and FIR number 03/2018 of Police Station Yaripora,” police said.

The official said the owner cannot sell/lease or transfer the property.

On Monday, police attached a property measuring 625 square feet belonging to alleged drug peddler Mashooq Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Khudwani Qaimoh, Kulgam.

The properties have been identified as illegally acquired using money from trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
