Srinagar: Special prayer ‘Salat Al Istisqa’ was offered at Srinagar’s Jama Masjid Friday with participants beseeching Almighty for a respite from prevailing dry weather conditions in Kashmir valley.
Reports said that a large number of people participated in the prayers and sought an end to drought-like weather conditions here.
Many people were seen crying before the Almighty, praying for rain and snow to end the unprecedented dry weather conditions.
Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid had asked people to join the ‘Salat Al Istisqa’ at the historic mosque in downtown Srinagar to pray for an end to the prolonged dry spell in the valley.
