Director Agriculture said that the good results coming out of these hi-tech polyhouses help us attract young educated farmers towards this technology. He said that the department has established polyhouses in all the districts of the Kashmir division.

Iqbal said that the most important characteristic of polyhouse technology is enabling round-the-year vegetable production which is making it popular among the farming community and agri-entrepreneurs of the region. Under HADP special attention has been given to boost this technology, he added.

The Director of Agriculture also underlined the importance of integrated farming and asked the farmers to diversify their agricultural activities. He asked the farmers that the department would provide all the technical guidance to the farmers in comprehensively performing their agriculture operations.

Later, the Director chaired a meeting of officers at the Agriculture Complex Lalmandi Srinagar and reviewed the progress under (HADP). He asked the officers to ensure that all the set targets under different projects of (HADP) are achieved in a stipulated time frame.
