Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau Monday reported that its sleuths have arrested Dr. Bilquees Ara Siddiqui, Scientist-B of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Srinagar for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹5,000.
ACB said it had received a written complaint against Dr. Bilquees Ara, Scientist-B in SPCB saying that she was demanding bribe for issuance of ‘Consent To Operate’ (CTO) for a bakery unit located at Industrial Estate, Khunmoh.
A case was registered and during investigation a trap team was constituted which caught the accused public servant red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe amount of ₹5,000 from the complainant, ACB said.
It said the money was recovered from the accused on spot. Further investigation into the case is going on, it said.
