Urs of first Caliph of Islam observed in Valley

Srinagar: The Urs of Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA), the first Caliph of Islam and the closest friend of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was observed all over Kashmir as special sermons were delivered during Friday congregational prayers, all over.

The main event was held at Dargah Hazratbal shrine as devotees from various parts of Kashmir thronged to participate in the special prayers on Friday.

On the occasion, the Holy Relic of the Prophet (SAW) was displayed for public viewing (Deedar).

Amidst a serene ambience, men, women, the elderly and children thronged the shrine, expressing their reverence by offering prayers, reciting verses from the Holy Quran, and seeking blessings for the Almighty.

As soon as the holy relic was displayed, emotional scenes were witnessed as the devotees were seen in tears and seeking mercy from Almighty Allah.
