Barabanki (Lucknow): Expressing the resolve of the government to transform the overall landscape of rural as well as urban India through various development schemes, Barabanki District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, Chief Development Officer Ekta Singh, under the chairmanship of Manoj Kumar Verma, Director of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Thursday, briefed a group of journalists about the development scenario in the district.
The 13-member journalist team from Jammu and Kashmir is in Utter Pradesh on a five day Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra tour which will be concluded on Saturday.
While briefing the media persons, Satyendra Kumar shared details about the schemes of the Central Government in Barabanki and highlighted the progress in the district.
Kumar said that in the coming time, there will be an investment of Rs. 20 thousand crores in various sectors in Barabanki, out of which 50% investment will be in the field of agriculture. “4.69 lakh people in Barabanki are under Kisan Samman Nidhi, 16.8 lakh are beneficiaries of schemes like Ayushman Card etc,” he said.
The Chief Development Officer, Ekta Singh said that those who were deprived of the schemes of the Central Government previously are now included in the mainstream through Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.
The officials also informed the journalists that the masses were ‘quite proactive’ in exploring various schemes that suited their interests and were actively participating in the Yatra with full vigour. After meeting the administrative officials, the team of journalists also inspected the park constructed under MNREGA in Gram Panchayat Mamarkhapur of Siddhaur block. They also saw the Anna Prashan Prerna Mahila Small Scale Industries established by the self-help group and interacted with Didi Mamta Verma of the group.
Giving details about the initiative, Verma informed that the cost of the industry was Rs 90 lakh. She said that through this group all the members had become self-reliant and their income had increased.
