Manshoor Banihali- A name that pulsates across poetic, prosaic, and areas of literary criticism who has left an indelible mark on the literary field of Kashmir, very recently, earned the prestigious Sahitya Academy Award for 2023 in Kashmiri literature for his much acclaimed book titled “Yeth Wawh Halay Tsong Kous Zalay” (Who will kindle the flame in this gusty situation?). This award is evidence of the profound impact of his work, as his book emerged victorious among a distinguished collection of poetry books in Kashmiri adjudged nationally.
His literary prowess extends beyond language boundaries, as he skillfully focussed themes that touch upon local, national, and international dimensions. His award-winning book delves into the heart of societal issues, embracing values and pioneering new trends.
