Kundian, Pathroo villages of Keran illuminate with first grid connectivity

KUPWARA: Kundian and Pathroo villages of border block Keran in Kupwara district got first-time grid connectivity today. 

In this regard, an e-inauguration ceremony was organized by the District Administration Kupwara here in the Mini Meeting Hall of D.C Office Complex Kupwara during which the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri e-inaugurated the electrification of these 2 villages.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan; JD Planning, Executive Engineer KPDCL Kupwara, BDC Chairperson Keran and PRIs from the Keran area were present on the occasion.

During the e-inauguration, the Divisional Commissioner virtually interacted with the BDC Chairperson Keran and PRIs and congratulated them for getting electricity in 2 villages of border block Keran adding that it is a big achievement in itself.

The Deputy Commissioner also congratulated the PRIs and the people of Keran for getting the grid supply, saying it is a historical achievement adding that it was a long pending demand of the people of Keran Valley which has been fulfilled by the Government.

Meanwhile, the PRIs expressed their gratitude towards the administration for providing grid connectivity to the far-flung border area.

Earlier, the Executive Engineer KPDCL division Kupwara informed that 2 villages of block Keran including Kundain and Pathroo have been connected with grid supply under Samirdh Seema Yojana for the first time since the Independence of the country. 

Earlier, these villages were getting the power supply from DG Set. Around 550 souls of Kundian and 750 souls of Pathroo village will be benefited from the new grid supply.
