SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited Seed Multiplication Farm (SMF) Tapper, Baramulla, inspected different blocks of the farm and took stock of different Agriculture activities.
Speaking to the staff and technical experts of SMF Tappar, the Director said that the department is implementing a prestigious initiative and is endeavouring to optimize the utility of departmental farms to attain self-reliance in the field of seed requirement for the Kashmir Division.
He said the department has already fixed targets for the year 2024-25 under HADP.
After visiting different farms in recent times, he said they are satisfied and optimistic about achieving targets in an effective, comprehensive manner. He also highlighted the importance of departmental farms and said these farms are the source of revenue and employment generation.
The director of Agriculture said that the department is executing a multi-disciplinary plan to transform all the departmental farms into revenue-earning and employment-generating assets.
