Reaffirming the party’s stance, Ajaz Jan stated unequivocally that such incidents are not acceptable to the Party. He highlighted the historical support of the people of Poonch for the army in every war. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace and harmony, he asserted that restoring the confidence of the Poonch district is paramount.

Furthering his call for action, the senior NC leader emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent judicial inquiry to investigate the incident. This step, he believed, is critical to ensuring swift justice for the victims and their families. He also demanded immediate compensation of Rs 1 Cr and a government job for a family member of each civilian killed. He also advocated for government employment for a suitable member of each affected family.

“I hope an enquiry will be initiated promptly, and the culprits brought to justice,” Ajaz Jan stated, reflecting the urgency and seriousness of the situation.

The visit was also attended by prominent senior NC leader Dr Mumtaz Bukhari, MC President Taj Bajar, Tariq Manhas and others.
