Srinagar: Police have booked a “wanted and notorious” drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla, a police spokesman informed Friday.
He said the “notorious” drug smuggler Shoib Aijaz Guru alias Shoib, son of Aijaz Ahmad Guru of Milat Colony, Kanispora Baramulla, has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-bhalwal Jammu, spokesman said.
Meanwhile, a drug peddler was also held in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
At a checkpoint established at Hib Dangerpora Rafiabad, police intercepted and later arrested Muneeb Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Jabar Dar of Muqam Shaheed Mir Bomai, after 210 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered in this regard.
