Srinagar: The Winter Games Association Jammu and Kashmir (WGAJK) held its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) on Thursday at Hotel Shahhanshah Palace, Dalgate Srinagar.

On this occasion, President WGAJK Rauf Tramboo extended a warm welcome to its members, including all districts and affiliated units.

During the meeting, President Tramboo discussed the upcoming Winter Games, including 4th Chapter of Khelo India Winter Games 2024, National Junior Ski Championship, and District and UT Championships scheduled to take place at Gulmarg in the months of January and February 2024.
Tramboo presented a comprehensive review of the winter games played in the past year. He highlighted the organization’s achievements, emphasizing the success of hosting previous chapters of Khelo India Winter Games at Gulmarg.

Expressing delight at the growing participation in winter sports,Tramboo suggested collaborative efforts with district bodies to identify young athletes. “The plan is to provide them a platform with training, coaching and guidance, nurturing budding talents to pursue winter sports as their future goals.”
Secretary General WGAJK Farhat Naik on the occasion gave a detailed briefing about the increasing number of athletes taking part in Alpine, Snowboard and Nordic ski, he also gave the details of the athletes who took part in different Winter Games played at National and international level events during2023.
Districts represented in the meeting included Srinagar, Baramulla, Ganderbal,Bandipora, Kupwara, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, and Anantnag, along with affiliated units such as GDC Tangmarg, Bisco, and Burnhall School.
