Restrictions on civilian traffic on Sgr-Jmu nat’l highway further relaxed

Srinagar: The Srinagar Jammu National Highway will remain closed for traffic movement for six hours each on two days to facilitate essential construction work.

Officials said that the suspension order has been granted to launch girders at Nashri viaduct, a crucial infrastructure development project.

“In view of the requisition received from Project Director, NHAI, PIU Ramban, vide above-quoted reference and to ensure the safety and well-being of the general populace/travellers/drivers, sanction is hereby granted in favour of NHAI, PIU Ramban, for taking six-hour traffic haltage from 0000 hours to 0600 hours on 21.12.2023 to 22.12.2023 (intervening night) and traffic haltage from 0000 hours to 0600 hours on 22.12.2023 to 23.12.2023 (intervening night), for launching the girders at MNB 19 & Installation of ventilation/jet fans in Tunnel 05, in strict adherence to the conditions outlined in the aforementioned communication from the Project Director NHAI, PIU Ramban,” reads the order issued by ADC Ramban.

“Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban and Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic, NHWs, Ramban, shall implement the above orders in letter and spirit,” the order further reads.
