Srinagar: Srinagar Police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
A statement issued by the police said that a police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO Police Station Sopore under the supervision of SDPO Sopore at a checkpoint established near Ziyarat Shareef Syed Sultan Arampora Sopore arrested a drug peddler identified as Nissar Ahmad Changa son of Ghulam Nabi Changa resident of Arampora Sopore.
During the search, 6.90 grams of Heroin like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to the police station where he remains in custody, the statement said.
It further said that a case FIR No. 304/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore & further investigation have been initiated.
