Strict action shall follow against those flouting traffic rules: ARTO Anantnag

ANANTNAG: To enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations among road users, the Motor Vehicles Department Anantnag today launched an enforcement drive in different areas of the district.

During the drive, officials took stringent action against traffic violators wherein more than 250 vehicles were checked and 60 were challaned.

ARTO Anantnag, Dr Mohammad Zubair Latoo said that the special focus of the drive was to book motorcyclists who were either not wearing helmets or were involved in Triple Riding, Overloading in passenger vehicles especially SRTC buses, reckless driving, using cell phones while driving, non-wearing of seat belts

He also said that MVD is committed to ensuring the safety of road users and will show zero tolerance towards those who flout traffic rules.

Stringent action is being taken against those who have been found in repeated violations so that a strong message can be sent to the road users.

ARTO urged the Parents to be cautious and behave responsibly towards their children and not allow them to ride two-wheelers without a Driving Licence and helmet so that their precious lives could be saved.
