Karnah: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Vikar Rasool Wani on Wednesday said that Congress feels highly concerned about the development of people living in border and far-flung areas both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir.

“The party is credited with rebuilding the Karnah after the devastation caused by to massive earthquake in 2005. The Party has worked tirelessly to rebuild devastated houses in other similarly situated border and hilly areas and it (Congress), will continue to work for the development of people, equally,” said Wani.

He, according to the JKPCC spokesperson, made these comments while addressing a largely attended public meeting at Tangdhar in the Karnah segment of Kupwara District where Wani made a fervent appeal to people to support Congress Party in its endeavours to ensure redressal of issues confronting them (people) due to the failures and incapability of BJP Govt at Centre, which has nothing to give except lies and deceit.

“The tall claims about development and normalcy seem a distant dream, for the fact, BJP Govt’s inaction and non-seriousness about the wellbeing of the people is responsible for peak unemployment, lack of development, economic distress and various other hardships confronting them (People),” he said.

“The undemocratic and unconstitutional reorganization of J&K state has exposed the BJP Policies, which are wrong and anti-people,” Wani said and added, “Had there been sincerity and transparency, the situation would have been different in J&K and asked the BJP Govt to stop playing with the emotions of people for the lust of power.”

JKPCC Chief assured the people that the Congress Party will continue to struggle to restore the dignity and honour of J&K, which has been snatched by the BJP to mislead people in the country and seek their votes aiming to remain in power. “Time will change, the BJP will be wiped out given its hate politics and anti-people policies,” he said.

Wani reminded the people of Karnah about the Congress Party’s tireless efforts to rebuild Karnah and ensured every facility to them and appealed to them to support the Congress Party for their better future.

Kupwara district Congress Committee President Nazir Ahmad Lone, JKPCC General Secretary Bashir Ahmad Khan, PCC Secretary Dr Gh Nabi Lone and various other leaders addressed the public gathering

On this occasion, prominent personality and Rtd Tehsildar Abdul Rashid Bhat joined Congress. He was welcomed by JKPCC Chief and other Party Leaders.
