JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani was addressing a meeting of PCC Office bearers and district Congress Committee Presidents at Srinagar Party Office, in which discussions were held on a wide range of issues confronting the public. The meeting also discussed the current political situation and the fallout of depriving democratic rights of people in J&K, terming the move as punishment and disempowering people.

Speaking on the occasion, Wani told the Office bearers that people’s issues have always been paramount to the Congress Party, which is known for its services and sacrifices, so they (Party Cadres) need to work harder to ensure redressal of public grievances, who are feeling isolated and disappointed given the Centre Govt’s certain wrong policies and lackadaisical attitude towards them (people).

“BJP Govt at the Centre is punishing people by depriving them of their democratic rights thereby leaving them unheard and disconnected from the administration in the absence of a democratic process that provides the opportunity to elect representatives, who represent them (people) at appropriate forums to seek redressal of their developmental and other needs, which is not being allowed to happen in J&K,” PCC Chief added and asserted that Congress will leave no stone unturned to highlight and ensure redressal of people’s sufferings besides safeguarding their rights, which are under assault since BJP Govt assumed power at Centre.

JKPCC Chief reviewed the organizational affairs and activities in all the districts of Kashmir while emphasizing working harder to further strengthen the Party and highlight public issues for their resolution. “Congress believes in serving and unifying people, but the BJP Govt is punishing people and neglecting their needs,” he rued.

Speaking on the occasion, JKPCC Senior Vice President G.N.Monga said that people have great expectations from the Congress Party and we should work together with dedication to seek redressal of their grievances.
